چکیده

Introduction. The communication between the trachea and esophagus is called tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). It can occurs as a congenital malformation (0.025-0.05%) (in particular related to the esophageal atresia) or can occurs as an acquired pathology. Endoscopic evaluation is the gold standard for the diagnosis of TEF and must be performed, in presence of symptoms such as choking, coughing, and cianosis at feeding.
